Orthodontics: Another Speciality in Dentistry

Picture

Orthodontics is a specialized part of dentistry which tackles oral problems like improper bites due to irregular teeth or a misplaced jaw line or deformed tooth etc. It mends the problems by many methods that re safely appreciated by the Dental association like removing the misplaced or problematic tooth, remolding the tooth to fit the gum, properly shaping the gum to hold the teeth in proper place to correct the positioning of the proper bite. This field is also called "dentofacial orthopedics".

Orthodontic management can also be performed out for purely aesthetic reasons with respect to increasing quality standards of the general look of patients' teeth. There are, however, orthodontists who work on recreating the entire facial structure rather than just focusing on teeth in its entirety.  But other than cosmetic and aesthetic values of this special line of dentistry, it is also applicable for fixing irregular teeth for a proper bite.

For diagnosis, the orthodontist must at all times follow the following steps:
Recognize the problem
Comprehend the Type of the Problem
Design a treatment plan as required

Show the patient the treatment plan such that he completely understands the involved procedures and effects and can make their decisions.
